Title: NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby recognize Erica and Billy Goodman and Traci and Brain Lamfrom for their extraordinary leadership and successful implementation of Big Night and the Hidden Gems of the JCC and congratulates them on their commitment to making the Jewish Community Center of Greater Pittsburgh an inclusive, welcoming and successful organization.

WHEREAS, the mission of the Jewish Community Center of Greater Pittsburgh is to enrich the community by creating an environment that strengthens the physical, intellectual and spiritual well-being of individuals and families by advancing a vision of an exemplary, thriving, engaged community rooted in Jewish values; and,

WHEREAS, the JCC of Greater Pittsburgh promotes the core values of respect, kindness, character and community through its programming and services and provides a gateway to experience the richness of Jewish tradition and community ; and,

WHEREAS, every year for the last 9 years, the JCC has held an annual fundraiser with a big theme and a spectacular program called Big Night. Big Night supports the JCC's Annual Fund which provides scholarships that enable individuals of all backgrounds, abilities, religious affiliations and financial need to participate in the JCC's quality programs and services. Each year, Big Night also honors a member of the community who, or an institution which, has significantly contributed to the success of the Jewish Community Center; and,

WHEREAS, the 2015 Big Night event was held on Saturday, March 7 at the JCC Squirrel Hill location and was co-chaired by Erica and Billy Goodman and Traci and Brian Lamfrom. This year's event, called Hidden Gems of the JCC , was an exciting experience as guests wandered through the Jungle and the Gemstone Palace, danced to the wild music of Dr. Zoot, dined in the exotic Grand Bazaar and encountered things strange and surprising such as gaming, raffles and a Silent Auction that offered sports memorabilia, island getaways, a European cruise, jewelry and more ; and,

WHEREAS, Chairs Erica and Billy Goodman and Traci and Brian Lamfrom headed up a large Host Committee, engaged a record number of sponsors and seamlessly executed one of the community's most successful events on the Pittsburgh social calendar.
