WHEREAS, Wrestler Vincenzo Joseph , a senior at Central Catholic High School who resides in Oakwood, just won his second consecutive PIAA Championship, winning the 152-pound title with a 12-7 decision; and,
WHEREAS, Vincenzo started wrestling at the age of 5 and is currently ranked #2 in the Country in the 152lb weight class and entered his senior year season with a career record of 105-20; and,
WHEREAS, overall, Mr. Joseph was a 4-time WPIAL Finalist, 4-Time PIAA Place Winner, 4-Time USA Wrestling All American, 2-Time USA Wrestling Finalist, 2-Time WPIAL Champion, 2-Time Powerade Champion and 2-Time PIAA Champion; and,
WHEREAS, on March 15, Vincenzo dominated his Dapper Dan Match 14-4 representing Team Pennsylvania and he was asked to represent Team USA at this year's Dream Team Classic on April 11th in Iowa; all while carrying a 4.3 Grade Point Average; and,
WHEREAS, it is argued, however, that being a 145 lb. runner-up finisher at the USAW Junior Nationals was his greatest achievement solidifying his status as one of the Nation's top recruits of 2015; and,
WHEREAS, Vincenzo resides with his proud parents, Victor, a City of Pittsburgh Police Lieutenant, and Sandra Joseph and he recently committed to Penn State where he will be wrestling for the 4-Time defending NCAA Champion Nittany Lion Wrestling Program; and,

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby commend Vincenzo Joseph for his academic achievements while favorably representing the State of Pennsylvania and the City of Pittsburgh in the sport of wrestling; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Tuesday, March 24, 2015, to be "Vincenzo Joseph Day" in the City of Pittsburgh.
