Title: NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby congratulate Mr. Rocco Mell on his 91st Birthday and honor him for his years of service to our great nation; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Saturday, February 7, 2015, to be "Mr. Rocco Mell Day" in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, Rocco Mell  was born February 11, 1924 in the Borough of Norwood and currently resides in the Windgap neighborhood of the City of Pittsburgh; and,
 
WHEREAS, Rocco served in the U.S. Army Air Force from 1944-1946 at which time he served during WWII in the China Burma India (CBI) Theater where he was a Flight Engineer who flew in 75 missions over the CBI area and has logged 750 hours of flight time; and,
 
WHEREAS, Mr. Mell was awarded the Flying Cross and Asia-Pacific Campaign Medal just to name a few; and,
 
WHEREAS, Rocco is a Life Member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and was elected Post Commander six times and was recognized as an All-American and is involved in District activities; and,
 
WHEREAS, he is an active member in the Win-Char Seniors Group and Saint Mary's Church; and,  
 
WHEREAS; Rocco and his late wife, Mary LaGuardia, were married on February 3, 1951 and had four sons and one daughter and have five grandchildren; and,
