WHEREAS, since 1974, Four Winds Gallery has featured the finest in Native American art; and,
WHEREAS, the Gallery's pieces encompass the finest historic items to works by today's most innovative contemporary artists; and,
WHEREAS, the Gallery's collection includes jewelry, pottery, weaving, sculpture, paintings, prints, folk art and photographs; and,
WHEREAS, for forty years, Four Winds Gallery has presented works of unparalleled range and quality, and has enthusiastically fostered a connection between Native artists and audiences in Pittsburgh and throughout the world; and,
WHEREAS, today, Four Winds Gallery is regarded as one of the most foremost Native American galleries, dedicated to the presentation of rare historic material as well as to the art of the innovative, contemporary artists.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby recognize and celebrate Four Winds Gallery for its 40th anniversary; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare December 9, 2014 to be "Four Winds Gallery Day" in the City of Pittsburgh.
