Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:

Section 1. The Director of the Department of Public Safety and the Acting Chief of Police, on behalf of the City of Pittsburgh, are hereby authorized to enter into a grant agreement with the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency, Project Safe Neighborhoods-Western District, in the amount of nine thousand five hundred dollars and zero cents ($9,500.00). The Pittsburgh Bureau of Police has two (2) full-time detectives assigned to the Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) Task Force. The goal of this grant is to increase the number of arrests and prosecutions of individuals who violate State & Federal firearm laws in Pittsburgh, including those responsible for gang-related shootings and those who illegally supply prohibited persons with firearms. Through the use of overtime funds, the detectives will be able to increase their case load and devote additional time into building solid cases which result in successful prosecutions. The grant agreement shall be approved as to form and substance by the City Solicitor and monies shall be deposited in 2329400134.45505.00.

Section 2. The Director of the Department of Public Safety, and the Acting Chief of Police, on behalf of the City of Pittsburgh, are hereby further authorized to enter into agreement or agreements, contract or contracts, and to make all legitimate expenditures required under the terms and conditions of this grant agreement with the Pennsylvania Commission on...
