Resolution authorizing the Mayor, the Director of the Department of Public Safety, and the Acting Chief of Police, on behalf of the City of Pittsburgh, to enter into a grant agreement with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Department of Transportation, Division of Highway Safety, Impaired Driving Grant (Federal Fiscal Year 2015), in the amount of eighty-nine thousand nine hundred ninety-six dollars and zero cents ($89,996.00).

Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:

Section 1. The Mayor, the Director of the Department of Public Safety, and the Acting Chief of Police, on behalf of the City of Pittsburgh, are hereby authorized to enter into a grant agreement with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Department of Transportation, Division of Highway Safety, Impaired Driving Grant, for the receipt of grant monies in the amount of eighty-nine thousand nine hundred ninety-six dollars and zero cents ($89,996.00). With this grant, the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police will increase public awareness of the problems associated with drinking and driving by conducting sobriety checkpoints, arrests and educational and media presentations. The Pittsburgh Bureau of Police will schedule DUI (Driving Under the Influence) law enforcement activities beginning October 2014 and ending September 2015. The grant agreement shall be approved as to form and substance by the City Solicitor and monies shall be deposited into the Grants Trust Fund 2329400136.45505.00.

Section 2. The Mayor, the Director of the Department of Public Safety, and the Acting Chief of Police, on behalf of the City of Pittsburgh, is hereby further authorized to enter into agreement or agreements, contract or contracts, and to make all legitimate expenditures required under the terms and conditions of the grant agreement with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Department of Transportation, Division of Highway Safety, Impaired Driving...
