Title: THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Tuesday, September 30th 2014 “Ashley Brandolph Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, Ashley Brandolph, who was born and raised in Pittsburgh, has, through her tireless civic dedication, rightfully earned a reputation for service and community mindedness, a mindset that was instilled in her from a young age by a loving and service-oriented family ; and

WHEREAS, Ashley's volunteer work and public engagement through her adolescent years further inspired her to continue to work closely with and within her community, the efforts of which she has translated and built upon in her current position at Lawrenceville WORKS!, as well as by volunteering her time and skills to Dress for Success-Pittsburgh, the Friends of Arsenal Park Steering Committee, Pittsburgh Cares, Pittsburgh Steel City Secret Cinema, and many other hardworking committees and volunteer supported organizations; and

WHEREAS, Ashley's diverse volunteer and service opportunities have afforded her a sincere reverence for service and engagement on all levels, further strengthening her to apply her unrivaled energy, dedication, and passion for her beloved neighborhood through her challenging and rewarding career as Community Employment and Resource Specialist for the Lawrenceville WORKS! Program; and

WHEREAS, in its first year, Ashley was able to exceed the initial Lawrenceville WORKS! benchmark goals by 385%, all the while leveraging her unique and recognized skill, savvy, dedication, and ingenuity to ensure the future growth and sustainability of a program that has become a pillar of the Lawrenceville community, one whose work positively impacts countless individuals and their families by changing lives, empowering hope, and creating new opportunities for people of all backgrounds; and

WHEREAS, Ashley was recently recognized for her holistic community advocacy and service when she was awarded the first Lawrenceville Neighbor of the Year award by Lawrenceville United, and was also nominated for both the Presidential Award and as Rookie of the Year at Goodwill ...
