Title: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Tuesday, September 23rd, 2014 to be “Martha Lech Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.

BODY
WHEREAS, Mrs. Martha Lech has been a lifelong resident of Enon Way in the South Side neighborhood of Pittsburgh; and,
 
WHEREAS, Mrs. Lech has celebrated her 100th birthday on August 25th, 2014; and,
 
WHEREAS, Mrs. Lech exemplifies the community spirit of the South Side neighborhood and is the mother of two sons Jack, wife Barbara; and Bobby, wife Patty; the grandmother of John, wife Diane; Steve, wife Jodi; and Wendy Lech Ferguson, husband Robert; and the great-grandmother of Johni Sue, Jack, Billy and Mackenzie Lech; and,
 
WHEREAS, Mrs. Lech has fostered a love of travel including frequent visits throughout the United States to New York City and Myrtle Beach, as well as to Hawaii, and has also traveled to Europe; and,
 
WHEREAS, Mrs. Lech has been a founding member of Prince of Peace Parish on the South Side and credits her longevity to her strong catholic faith;
 
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby recognize and honor the remarkable life and achievements of Mrs. Martha Lech and congratulates her on the 100th anniversary of her birth; and,

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED  that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Tuesday, September 23rd, 2014 to be "Martha Lech Day" in the City of Pittsburgh.
