BODY
WHEREAS, Carrick High School has been an educational powerhouse for ninety years, and;
WHEREAS, Carrick High School has previously honored 52 Distinguished Alumni, and;
WHEREAS, on Sunday, September 28, 2014, Carrick High School will honor seven outstanding graduates as Carrick High School Distinguished Alumni, in the Grand Ballroom of the South Hills Country Club, and;
WHEREAS, the seven graduates to be honored include:
The Reverend Thomas Burke, Class of 1988, Pastor of St. James R.C. Church, Sewickley, PA, and;
Arlene D. Oehling, Class of 1956, Finalist in Jefferson Awards for Public Service, and;
JoAnn Petrolio Forrester, Class of 1961, award-winning small business advocate, teacher and author, and;
Jerry Lucarelli, Class of 1959, award winning jazz pianist & composer, and;
Jeannie M. Starzynski, Class of 1963, 27 years in mental health care field as manager, supervisor & trainer, and;
Natalia A. Rudiak, Class of 1997, twice elected Pittsburgh City Councilwoman representing 38,000 constituents, and;
Anthony F. Ruscitto, Class of 1959, self-made construction management executive.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh hereby acknowledges the many contributions Carrick High School Distinguished Alumni have made to their communities; and
TITLE
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council hereby declares Sunday, September 28, 2014, "Carrick High School Distinguished Alumni Day" in the City of Pittsburgh.
