Title: BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Tuesday, September 16, 2014, to be “Aaron Lickel Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS,  sixteen year old Aaron Lickel  of Westwood  received his CPR  certification through the City of Pittsburgh lifeguard training course this past spring and worked at Westwood Pool;  little did he know, that the training he received would prove to be invaluable; and,
WHEREAS,  as family members were gathered in his grandmother's living room, his Aunt, Jaymie Lickel, appeared to have passed out and was not responding to anyone; and,  
WHEREAS, Aaron quickly called 911 and they asked if anyone knew CPR to which he replied he did and they instructed him to begin while the ambulance was in route; once arrived, they took over and rushed her to the hospital; and,
WHEREAS,  the hospital informed Aaron and his family that his aunt suffered a heart attack and stated that because of Aaron's actions, his aunt is alive today; and,                       
WHEREAS, Aaron has been raised by his grandmother  Pat Michizen, who adopted him at age 5, and is a Junior and high honor roll student at the Pittsburgh Science and Technology Academy in Oakland;  and,
WHEREAS,  Aaron plans on attending college in the future majoring in Engineering; and,
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED,  that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby commend Aaron Lickel for his immediate and fearless actions that saved his aunt's life; and,
