Title: BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Saturday, September 6, 2014, to be “Richard Federowicz Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, Richard Joseph Federowicz has been named Outstanding Polonian by The Pittsburgh Chapter of the Kosciuszko Foundation; and,
WHEREAS, Mr. Federowicz was born in Reading, Pennsylvania to Richard and Johanna Federowicz on September 21, 1952; and,  
WHEREAS,  both his paternal and maternal grandparents were immigrants and Richard was the first member of his immediate family to attend and graduate from college in 1974 attending Lehigh University and earned his Juris Doctor Degree in 1977 from Duquesne University School of Law; and,
WHEREAS, Richard worked his way through college and law school at various construction and industrial jobs and has been a member of the Auto Workers Union, the Paint Workers Union, the Chemical Workers Union and the Retail Clerk Union;      and,                       
WHEREAS,  currently specializing in medical malpractice defense work, general litigation and estate and trust planning litigation, Mr. Federowicz ia a member of the Allegheny County Academy of Trial Lawyers and has been designated one of the Best Lawyers in America and Super Lawyers; and,
WHEREAS, he has been an active member of Pittsburgh Polonia and is a charter member of the Polish Cultural Council; he has served as the legal counsel for the Polish Falcons of America for over 20 years and he is one of the original members of the Pittsburgh Chapter of the Kosciuszko Foundation; and,  
WHEREAS,  Richard is married to Martha Griest Federowicz, and they have three children and two grand-children; and,
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED,  that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby commend husband, father, attorney and Polish-American, Richard Joseph Federowicz for being an Outstanding Polonian; and,
