WHEREAS, Alpen Schuhplattler und Trachten Verein D'Pittsburgher is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, founded in 1964; and
WHEREAS, the organization's mission is to promote and preserve Bavarian-Tyrolean dances, traditions and culture; and
WHEREAS, the organization strives to educate the general public about Bavarian-Tyrolean arts, and works with local middle and high school students through its Kindergruppe (children's dance group); and
WHEREAS, Alpen Schuhplattler und Trachten Verein D'Pittsburgher desires to hold raffles per year to raise funds in support of the programming and operation of the organization; and

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh hereby recognizes Alpen Schuhplattler und Trachten Verein D'Pittsburgher to be a civic and/or service organization within the context of the Pennsylvania Small Games of Chance Act, as amended.
