Title: BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh declares Tuesday, July 1, 2014 “American Outlaws Pittsburgh Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, the American Outlaws were formed in 2007 in Lincoln, Nebraska by Korey Donahoo, Justin Brunken, and Ben Cohoon, who threw viewing parties at a local bar named Captain Jack's; and,
 
WHEREAS, the mission of the American Outlaws is, "To support the United States National Soccer Teams through a unified and dedicated group of supporters," and "Creating a community locally and nationally to Unite & Strengthen U.S. Soccer fans from all parts of this country;" and,
 
WHEREAS, nationally there are 146 American Outlaw chapters with over 18,000 members; and,
 
WHEREAS, the Pittsburgh chapter of American Outlaws was founded in 2009 as the 12th chapter in the country; and,
 
WHEREAS, American Outlaws Pittsburgh was originally founded by Brandon Myers; and,
 
WHEREAS, the current leadership of American Outlaws Pittsburgh includes Jim Taylor, Mike Kapusta, Brian Vanselow, Shad Richardson and Matthew Patterson; and
 
WHEREAS, at the 2014 World Cup, the United States soccer team has qualified for the Round of 16 for the second consecutive World Cup - for the first time in history; and,
 
WHEREAS, the American Outlaws Pittsburgh have organized multiple official viewing parties to continue to unite and strengthen U.S. Soccer fans in Western Pennsylvania.
 
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh commends the American Outlaws Pittsburgh for their dedication to supporting the United States National Soccer Teams and continuing to build a vibrant soccer community within our most livable city.
