Title: BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Thursday, June 12, 2014, to be “Rodman After School Program Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, The Rodman After School Program (R.A.S.P.) was established over 15 years ago in the East Liberty section of Pittsburgh. The mission of R.A.S.P. is to build up and enhance the lives of children as well as serve all communities, with a centralized focus on The East End                   ; and,
 
WHEREAS, The goals of the R.A.S.P. are to provide educational activities that are engaging and age appropriate. R.A.S.P. also promotes academic and spiritual enrichment to their young people; and,
 
WHEREAS, R.A.S.P. offers a wide range of programs for the children which include African American History, computer lab, homework assistance and music education; and,
 
WHEREAS, R.A.S.P. has partnerships with various organizations throughout the City of Pittsburgh. Most notably, the Allegheny County Feeding Program who provides the students with dinner five days a week; and,    
 
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby commend Rodman After School Program for its commitment to providing a safe haven for the youths of the City of Pittsburgh while teaching them skills to enhance their lives and education; and,
