WHEREAS, Patricia Goettel is the owner of Patricia Boutique located in Chatham Village in Mount Washington; and,
WHEREAS, Ms. Goettel grew up wearing unique apparel made by her mother Marion, who was a seamstress, which made quite an impression on her career choice; and,
WHEREAS, she has been in retail fashion since she was 17 where her fashion career took her from working at local upscale shops such as Rodier Paris in Station Square and as manager for Designer Salon at Saks Fifth Avenue to New York's garment district and the runways of Paris; and,
WHEREAS, in 1999 she opened Patricia Boutique in Aspinwall which specializes in what she calls "wearable art" created by over 40 local, national and international fiber artists and jewelers; and,
WHEREAS, when her daughter Diane got married and moved to Hong Kong, Patricia downsized to be able to visit her daughter, and moved to a smaller shop in Mt. Washington where she had its grand opening on March 4, 2011; and,
WHEREAS, Patricia has a passion for customer service and makes it a daily standard to help women feel special in the garments they wear; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Goettel is one of five individuals who will be inducted into the Pittsburgh Fashion Hall of Fame on September 28 during Pittsburgh Fashion Week; and,
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby acknowledge and commend Patricia Goettel for her commitment to keeping the City of Pittsburgh fashionable; and,

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Tuesday, May 13, 2014, to be "Patricia Goettel Day" in our most livable City of Pittsburgh.
