WHEREAS, Cathy Jacobson-Guzy is an alumna of the University of Pittsburgh; and,
WHEREAS, Cathy Jacobson-Guzy is a Pittsburgh City League and PIAA tennis champion; and,
WHEREAS, Cathy Jacobson-Guzy was granted the University of Pittsburgh's Varsity Letter Club Award of Distinction in 2012; and,
WHEREAS, the Pitt Varsity Letter Club has honored those members who have distinguished themselves in their profession or community, and who, by their accomplishments, have enhanced the value of the intercollegiate athletics program at the University of Pittsburgh; and,
WHEREAS, Cathy Jacobson-Guzy has been the director of tennis at the Billie Jean King and El Dorado Tennis Centers for 21 years; and,
WHEREAS, Cathy Jacobson-Guzy's work has helped to promote the City of Pittsburgh and the Pittsburgh region; and,
WHEREAS, Cathy Jacobson-Guzy is being recognized for her accomplishments through an induction into the Western Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame; and,
WHEREAS, the ceremony for her induction will take place on May 3, 2014.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby proclaim May 3, 2014, as "Cathy Jacobson-Guzy Day" in the City of Pittsburgh.
