WHEREAS, the Fraternal Order of Police Fort Pitt Lodge #1 is the voice of those who dedicate their lives to protect and serve our communities; and,
WHEREAS, the Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) Fort Pitt Lodge #1 is committed to improving the working conditions of law enforcement officers and the safety of those they serve through education, legislation, information, community involvement and employee representation; and,
WHEREAS, FOP Fort Pitt Lodge #1 is hosting its Annual Retirement and Awards Dinner Party Friday, April 25, 2014 at St. Pamphilus R.C. Church located in Beechview; and,
WHEREAS, the following forty officers who retired from the City of Pittsburgh Police Bureau in the year 2013 are being honored: Timothy G. Ballou, Sr., Coretta A. Buggs, Kathy L. Curges, Connie J. Diulus, Edward F. Eckle, Kenneth Farnan, Theodore J. Garrity, James B. Goga, Robert S. Harrison, Michael R. Hoffman, Alice L, Klein, Susan E. Lippert, Thomas J. McBride, Christopher P. Micknowski, Michael E. Piasecki, Richard M. Pritchard, Michael G. Schopp, Patrick J. Tevis, Anthony P. Viscomi, Frederick K. Woodson, Jr., Cardell N. Brown, John A. Catullo, Mark A. Davis, Paul F. Dugan, George D. Edwards, Lois W. Frank, John D. Gaspich, William J. Hanlon, Brenda L. Hill, Brian K. Johnson, Eric Kurvach, Kenneth D, Manuel, John T. McMonagle, Jayne Novak, Robert J. Pires, Theotis Sampson, James R. Smith, Andrew W. Tice, Jr., William S. Webb, and Christopher A. Wydra; and,
WHEREAS, Jean White-Swanson is awarded the Pat McNamara Lifetime Achievement Award; and,

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby commend the 2013 retirees for their dedication and commitment to protecting and servicing the people of the City of Pittsburgh; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Friday, April 25, 2014 to be "FOP Fort Pitt Lodge #1 Retirees Day" in the City of Pittsburgh.
