WHEREAS, Leadership, integrity, and craftsmanship are the fundamentals of AE Works, a local architecture and engineering firm that is dedicated to creating spaces and structures with quality in detail, aesthetic distinction and connection with the larger community.
WHEREAS, AE Works exists to create a world where everyone is relevant through collaborative design and partnerships with the community.
WHEREAS, Michael Cherock is the founder and president of AE Works; and,
WHEREAS, Mr. Cherock is a veteran of the US Navy's Submarine Force; and,
WHEREAS, Mr. Cherock has been recognized by the U.S. Small Business Administration as the Small Business Person of the Year for the Western Pennsylvania Region; and as the Small Business Person of the Year for the State of Pennsylvania; and,
WHEREAS, next month, Mr. Cherock will compete in Washington DC for the SBA National Small Business Person of the Year award; and,
WHEREAS, The Small Business Administration is formally recognizing Michael Cherock at in event at Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hall on May 23, 2014.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby recognize and pay tribute to Mr. Cherock for his outstanding service to the small business community in the City of Pittsburgh and the commonwealth of Pennsylvania; and,

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby proclaim May 23, 2014 as "Michael Cherock Day" in the City of Pittsburgh.
