WHEREAS, on Saturday, November 2, 2013 at Chartiers Valley High School, the Bishop Canevin Girls Volleyball Team claimed their first WPIAL Class A title in school history; and,
WHEREAS, top seeded Bishop Canevin, ending their regular season with 14 wins,
0 losses and 0 ties, defeated No. 2 Greensburg Central Catholic in the Class A championship by 3-2 which they achieved by set scores of 25-17, 23-25, 23-25, 25-13 and 15-9; and,
WHEREAS, Sophomore outside hitter Erin Cunningham led the Crusaders with 19 kills and five aces, and Ashley Grimm added eight kills for Bishop Canevin,

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby commend the Girls Volleyball Team of Bishop Canevin High School, Head Coach Kevin Walters, Assistant Coaches Danelle Wagner, Pete Barakat and Meghan Cunningham for a great season and congratulate them for their first WPIAL Class A title; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Thursday, April 10, 2014, to be "Lady Crusaders Day" in the City of Pittsburgh.
