Title: BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Saturday, March 29, 2014, to be “Denice Haas Day” in our most livable City of Pittsburgh. WHEREAS, on March 28, 1969, Denice Haas began her 45 year career with the City of Pittsburgh Fire Bureau, in the now demolished public safety building, working as a clerk stenographer and has since been promoted three times with her final city debut as the Manager of Personnel and Finance for Public Safety Director Michael Huss; and,
WHEREAS, Ms. Haas worked for eight fire chiefs and eight mayors, and as Manager of Personnel and Finance, she assisted the director in preparing for historic city events such as the G-20 economic summit, and was an integral part of keeping the Department of Public Safety on track; and,
WHEREAS, Ms. Haas always had a smile on her face, a warm cup of coffee and sweets to offer, a closet with any and every necessity within it, and most importantly a beautiful seasonally decorated office for all who visited; and,
WHEREAS, barely taking time off for herself, Denice Haas exemplified the words loyalty and "hard working" and her diligence, attention to detail and work ethic will be missed by the City of Pittsburgh; and,                       
WHEREAS, during her retirement, Denice will spend time with her Dad at the casino and with her niece and nephew whom she adores; and,
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED,  that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby acknowledge and commend the efforts of Denice Haas and wish her the best of happiness and health in her retirement; and,
