Title: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby recognize and congratulate Dan Sentz for his 36 years of dedicated service to the City of Pittsburgh, and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare, Tuesday, March 18, 2014 to be “Dan Sentz Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, Dan Sentz began his career with the City of Pittsburgh in 1978 when he was hired in the Department of City Planning; and,
 
WHEREAS,  Mr. Sentz demonstrated both an extraordinary interest and expertise in the planning and development of the City's natural resources, serving first as the City's environmental planner and then as the Riverfront Coordinator; and,
 
WHEREAS, in these positions, Mr. Sentz has made a positive contribution to important City environmental issues, such as storm water management, development of City green spaces, flood plain management, riverfront development, redesign of Market Square, the 9-Mile Ecosystem Project, and development of the river trail system; and,
 
WHEREAS,  Mr. Sentz  is renowned at City Planning for his green thumb, being responsible for the care and remarkable growth of the Department's plants; and,

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby recognize and congratulate Dan Sentz for his 36 years of dedicated service to the City of Pittsburgh, and
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare, Tuesday, March 18, 2014 to be "Dan Sentz Day" in the City of Pittsburgh.
