WHEREAS, Pittsburgh Brashear High School located at 590 Crane Avenue, will be putting on the production of the musical Bye Bye Birdie March 13-16, 2014 ; and,
WHEREAS, they will be one of 29 schools that will participate in the 24th annual Gene Kelly Awards for Excellence in High School Musical Theater on Saturday, May 24, 2014 where college scholarships are awarded to qualified seniors; and,
WHEREAS, the talented students and staff of Pittsburgh Brashear began rehearsals in December of 2013 and have worked very hard since then to put on a performance of this magnitude; and,

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby commend the students and staff of Pittsburgh Brashear High School for their energy and dedication that they have devoted to this production and for their continued support for arts education; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare, that March 13-16, 2014, is recognized as "Pittsburgh Brashear Musical Days" in the City of Pittsburgh.
