Title: NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby honor and congratulate Nathaniel Gray on his mere fortitude to not only survive, but, to prosper and become an accomplished member of the community BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Tuesday, February 18, 2014, to be " Nathaniel Gray Day" in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, in 1996, Nathaniel Gray was born weighing 2.4 pounds due to prenatal cocaine exposure. As a result, he was plagued by various ailments during the first five years of his life which required a numerous hospitalizations. These include Hydrocephalus, seizures, asthma and GERD, which prevented him from walking until 3 years of age; and,
 
WHEREAS, Nathaniel Gray was adopted in 2002 by his Aunt and Uncle Floyd and Julia-Robinson Rose. He thrived under their care and supervision. One of his most notable accomplishments was becoming a graduate of the historical Urban League's African American Males Program; and,
 
WHEREAS, currently, he is a senior and honor student at Career Connections Charter High School. He has recently received numerous accolades, including the honor of Eagle Scout from Troop 379 of St. James A.M.E. Church, Laurel highlands Council, Boys Scouts of America; and,
