WHEREAS, Pgh Momtourage is the brain child of Kelly Hughes as a way of connecting with other moms in the city, beginning with moms who she would meet at the park, the library or church and inviting them to play dates that she would plan; and,
WHEREAS, Pgh Momtourage organizes two play dates each month welcoming not only moms, but dads, grandmas, grandpas and other caregivers to explore all of what Pittsburgh has to offer including Fire Station Tours, North Shore Water Steps, Spray Parks, Museums and The Pittsburgh Zoo; always striving to do as many free outings as possible; and,
WHEREAS, Pgh Momtourage has a growing online community through Kelly's blog, Facebook and Twitter where families can post questions, connect with others and check out events going on in and around the City of Pittsburgh; and,
WHEREAS, in August of 2013 they celebrated their fourth year anniversary with a party held at the West End Overlook entertaining over 200 guests with festivities including a clown, magician, face painting, vendor giveaways, food, and more ending with a goodnight storytime; and,
WHEREAS, Kelly and her husband currently reside in Westwood with their two young children and became a certified foster family entertaining three separate sibling groups in their home over the past year; and,

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby commend Kelly Hughes for the services she provides to families residing in the City of Pittsburgh through Pgh Momtourage; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Tuesday, February 11, 2014, to be "Pgh Momtourage Day" in the City of Pittsburgh.
