Title: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby recognize and congratulate Ronald H. Pferdehirt on his much deserved retirement from the City of Pittsburgh, and thanks him for his dedicated thirty two years of service, and wishes him many happy years of retirement; and, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare, Tuesday, February 10, 2014 to be Ronald H. Pferdehirt Day in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, on August 10, 1981, Ronald H. Pferdehirt, began his career with the City of Pittsburgh in the Law Department, quickly becoming an institution and an integral part to serving Council and the City as Deputy City Solicitor. Mr. Pferdehirt stands as a symbol of loyalty and commitment, dedicating countless hours to better serving us all; and,
 
WHEREAS, Ronald H. Pferdehirt, served 29 of his 32 years as the City's tax attorney, primarily representing the city in real estate matters, treasurer's sales, taxes, and assisting the solicitor in the supervision of staff. In his 32 years of service, Mr. Pferdehirt exemplified qualities of an outstanding employee, often going above and beyond expectations; and,
 
WHEREAS, the City of Pittsburgh's Law Department represents the City as a municipal corporation in development transactions and operational matters, acting as the attorney and providing legal advice to the Mayor, City Council, and various City Departments; and,
 
WHEREAS, in addition to his duties with the Law Department, Mr. Pferdehirt is a proud father to his two children, Jennifer and Jeffrey, and a dedicated grandfather to his grandchildren Kimberlin and Christian; and,
