Title: BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby congratulate the AGH-Northside Partnership on its 25th, silver anniversary; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Thursday, January 30, 2014, to be “AGH-Northside Partnership Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, 25 years ago, Allegheny General Hospital (AGH) and the 15 neighborhood groups that comprise the Northside Leadership Conference (NSLC) signed a groundbreaking, formal agreement, establishing the framework for a long-standing partnership; and

WHEREAS, the AGH-Northside Partnership Agreement's mission was and continues to be focused on enhancing and promoting the vitality, quality of life, and image of the Northside community through neighborhood reinvestment and economic development, improved housing, education, employment, and health and wellness initiatives; and

WHEREAS, the Partnership is proud of its accomplishments and ongoing programs designed to support its six major initiatives; and

WHEREAS, it is now one of the most broad-based, longest running official partnerships between a community and a major medical institution in the country; and

WHEREAS, this Partnership is made possible through the Northside neighborhood organizations, including: Allegheny City Central Association, Allegheny City Society, Allegheny West Civic Council, Brighton Heights Citizen's Federation, Brightwood Civic Group, Charles Street Area Council, Community Alliance Spring Garden/East Deutschtown, East Allegheny Community Council, Fineview Citizen's Council, Manchester Citizens Corporation, Observatory Hill, Inc., Perry Hilltop Citizens Council, Spring Hill Civic League, Summer Hill Citizens Committee, Troy Hill Citizens, Inc., and supporting individuals, including: NSLC Board President, Walt Nalducci, Esq., NSLC Executive Director, Mark T. Fatla, Esq., AGH Interim President & Chief Executive Officer, Michael Harlovic, AGH Senior Vice President, Debra Caplan, AGH-Northside Partnership Director, Laura Smith, AGH employees of the Northside Coordinating Committee, the AGH Auxiliary, AGH Medical Staff, and all those hospital and community partners who support the AGH-Northside Partnership programming and initiatives; and
