Title: NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby commend and applaud JoAnne Heffron-Hannah for her service to the community; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Tuesday, November 19, 2013, to be “JoAnn Heffron-Hannah Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, JoAnn Heffron-Hannah has a strong devotion to young people's well-being, and has 24 years of experience in public child welfare. She has provided services such as caseworker, caseworker supervisor, caswork manager, and Project Director for the Title IVE Project. JoAnn graduated with a B.S. from Pennsylvania State University and then earned her Masters of Social Work at the University of Pittsburgh ; and,
 
WHEREAS, through her work Ms. Heffron-Hannah provides services to young adults who are transitioning from the foster care system. These services help them to pursue post-secondary education, whether academic or vocational. In addition they help with housing, financial aid and scholarships. They even assist students with laptops, school supplies and transportation; and,  
 
WHEREAS, she is presently the Transition and Independent Living Programs Manager for Allegheny County Department of Human Services, her responsibilities are to provide programs to all foster care youths and foster care youth alumni; and,
 
WHEREAS, because JoAnn Heffron-Hannah has demonstrated that she is a solution maker and is willing to work hard and tirelessly to provide the best possible service that will enhance and positively change the quality of life for young people; and,

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby commend and applaud JoAnne Heffron-Hannah for her service to the community; and,
 
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Tuesday, November 19, 2013,  to be "JoAnn Heffron-Hannah Day" in the City of Pittsburgh.
