Title: NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby commend Scott Evans for his tremendous work ethic on and off the field and congratulates him on his acceptance into Harvard; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Tuesday, October 29, 2013, to be “Scott Evans Day” in the City of Pittsburgh. K

WHEREAS, Scott Evans, son of Scott and Maureen Evans, resides in Sheraden and is a senior at Pittsburgh Brashear High School; and,
 
WHEREAS, Scott Evans is a 6-foot-3, 245 pound offensive tackle and defensive end for Brashear High School; was Captain of the team in 2012 and 2013 and one of the top players in the City League; and,
 
WHEREAS, Scott is an extraordinary young man who has proven that not only can Pittsburgh produce great athletes but athletes who can achieve academically as proven by his unweighted GPA of 3.97 and a weighted GPA of 4.67 which gives him a class rank of 2 out of 327; he is a National Honor Society Member and scored a 1870 on the three-part SAT; and,
 
WHEREAS, after graduating from Brashear in 2014, he is on his way to play for Harvard, majoring in engineering, after he was recruited by the Harvard Crimson coaching staff during a football camp; and,    
 
WHEREAS, when not on the field or in the classroom, Scott enjoys reading books about the Revolutionary War and is fascinated with Navy Seals and modern military tactics; and,

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby commend Scott Evans for his tremendous work ethic on and off the field and congratulates him on his acceptance into Harvard; and,
 
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Tuesday, October 29, 2013, to be "Scott Evans Day" in the City of Pittsburgh.
