Title: NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare October 20 to be “Pastor Vincent Kevin Campbell Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, Pastor Vincent Kevin Campbell was born in Orlando, Florida, and moved to St. Paul, Minnesota where he married Jamie Lynn Durant, with whom he has five children, and where he was licensed on October 19, 1997 by New Hope Missionary Baptist Church; and,

WHEREAS, Pastor Campbell has an extensive educational background, graduating with honors from American Baptist College to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biblical & Theological Studies, pursuing and completing a Master of Divinity Degree from Vanderbilt University Divinity School, and earning a Doctor of Ministry Degree at Morehouse School of Religion (ITC) in Atlanta, Georgia; and,

WHEREAS, employed as the Dean of Students and Chapel at American Baptist College from 2002 - 2004, Pastor Campbell received pastoral training and guidance under the pastorates of Rev. James Thomas and Rev. Dr. William F. Buchanan, before he was ordained on April 25, 2004 by Fifteenth Avenue Baptist Church in Nashville, Tennessee; and,

WHEREAS, in 2010, Pastor Campbell was appointed by Mayor Karl Dean and confirmed by the Metro City Council to serve on the Nashville community as a Commissioner of the Metro Human Relations Commission, while simultaneously working as Associate Dean and Professor in Pastoral Studies at American Baptist College, and as a Field Education Seminar Instructor for Vanderbilt University from 2005-2012; and,

WHEREAS, Pastor Campbell has served on several non-profit boards of directors in Nashville, including an appointment to the Belmont University Board of Trustees in 2010, and has taken on the role as an outreach worker for MANNA, Inc., where he has served the poor by advocating for full access to the food stamp program, testifying before legislative committees, and doing DHS advocacy outreach; and,

WHEREAS, given his diverse talents as a gifted teacher, preacher and administrator, Pastor Campbell is the recipient of several awards, including the distinguished grade of honors for h...
