WHEREAS, Three Talented Girlz (3TG) is made up of sisters Imani Jai Chisom, 15 and Bryce Ari Chisom, 13, who both attend Pittsburgh Obama Academy and 13 year-old Summerlove Helvy who attends Pittsburgh Schiller; and,
WHEREAS, the girls met while at summer camp in 2012 and decided to join their talents of singing, rapping, dancing and writing music and have been together ever since; and,
WHEREAS, the group recently became the grand prize winners of WAMO 100's Local Love Talent Showcase at the August Wilson Center for African American Culture which gave them many opportunities such as a local AT&T radio commercial, and a chance to perform as an opening act for a national artist; and,
WHEREAS, after winning the WAMO competition, the girls competed against 38 other acts in a contest in Cleveland and scored a distribution deal with Sony Records which will help fund their videos and distribute their music, of which several songs are receiving airplay; and,
WHEREAS, on July 31, Three Talented Girlz performed at Amateur Night at the Apollo and was recently honored at the Shyne Awards on August 3, 2013; and,

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby commend Three Talented Girlz for their talents and enthusiasm to spread a more positive message to youth; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Tuesday, September 10, 2013, to be "3TG Day" in the City of Pittsburgh.
