Title: NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare September 4, 2013 to be “Reverend George Thomas Woodruff” in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, Reverend George Thomas Woodruff, husband to Sarah Woodruff and father of five daughters and one son, was raised in the Hill District with his parents and four brothers, as he went on to graduate from Geneva College with a Bachelor's degree in Christian and Pastoral Ministries; and,
 
WHEREAS, Reverend Woodruff has been preaching the word of God since 1975, in a commitment he has made to serve the community and those in need, whether on the pulpit or reaching out to people directly in the street; and,
 
WHEREAS, Reverend Woodruff was a bus driver for more than 25 years with the Port Authority, a position that put him in contact with individuals from all walks of life throughout the City of Pittsburgh; and,  
 
WHEREAS, in April of 2013, the Reverend accepted the call to pastor the Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church in the California-Kirkbride neighborhood of the Northside, a role he is humbled and excited to receive; and,
 
WHEREAS, the City of Pittsburgh and the Northside community welcome Reverend Woodruff as pastor of Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church, and wish him the very best in his service to the community;
