Title
Resolution authorizing a cooperation agreement with the Urban Redevelopment Authority of Pittsburgh designating URA as the City's agent in connection with a $882,990 Penn Works grant for the the Lawrenceville Technology Center site owned by RIDC Southwestern Pennsylvania Growth Fund (Council District 7)
Body
Whereas, the City of Pittsburgh intends to apply to the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development ("DCED") for a $882,990 Penn Works grant for the the Lawrenceville Technology Center site owned by RIDC Southwestern Pennsylvania Growth Fund; and
 
Whereas, the City desires to designate the Urban Redevelopment Authority of Pittsburgh ("URA") as its agent to apply for and administer and implement the Grant and receive funds directly from DCED if the Grant is awarded;
 
Be It Resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:
 
Section 1.            The Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into a cooperation agreement or agreements with URA, in a form approved by the City Solicitor, authorizing URA to execute an application for the Grant and all other documents and agreements necessary or appropriate to facilitate and assist in obtaining the Grant, designating URA as the City's agent for administration and implementation of the Grant, requiring compliance by URA with Penn Works requirements and providing for the disbursement of Grant funds by DCED directly to URA if permitted by DCED.
