Resolution authorizing Riverlife to apply on behalf of the City of Pittsburgh for a grant from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development for the purpose of renovating Allegheny Landing Park.

WHEREAS, The City of Pittsburgh, hereinafter referred to as “City”, owns the public park now known as Allegheny Landing Park (the “Park”), which is located along the Allegheny River between the Roberto Clemente (6th Street) and Andy Warhol (7th Street) Bridges in the North Shore neighborhood of Pittsburgh; and
WHEREAS, Riverlife, a Pennsylvania nonprofit corporation, hereinafter referred to as “Riverlife” (the “applicant”) has offered to perform a multi-phase renovation/capital improvement project at the Park (the “Project”) to turn it into a renewed public green space that will allow it to continue to function as a key link within the urban trail system while providing access to the Allegheny River for recreation, water taxi services and recreational boating; and
WHEREAS, the Project design includes the restoration of a riverfront bicycle and pedestrian trail, a dock for public use that includes a water taxi landing, and restoration of art work; and
WHEREAS, Riverlife and the City have entered into a Project and License Agreement to define the scope of the Project Work to be provided by Riverlife at the Park; and
WHEREAS, Riverlife now desires to receive from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development (the "Department") a grant for the purposes of carrying out this project; and
WHEREAS, the application package includes a document entitled "Authorized Official Resolution," and a document entitled "Grant Agreement Signature Page"; and
WHEREAS, the applicant understands that the contents of the document entitled "Terms and
Conditions of Grant," including appendices referred to therein, will become the terms and conditions of a Grant Agreement between the applic...
