Whereas, the City has worked to reduce violence in the City of Pittsburgh; and
 
Whereas, the City must reduce gun-related violence within its borders; and
 
Whereas, the City has been implementing the Pittsburgh Initiative to Reduce Crime, and
 
Whereas, The City desires to strengthen the job readiness aspects of the Initiative; and
 
Whereas, it is in the best interest of the City to dramatically reduce its violent crime.
 
Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:
 
Section 1.      The Mayor and the Director of Public Safety are hereby authorized and directed to enter into an agreement or agreements or contract or contracts, in a form approved by the City Solicitor, with the Goodwill of Southwestern Pennsylvania for $150,000 and Youth Opportunities Development for $150,000 for the purpose of continuing to provide and enhancing the continuum of social services and employment assistance provided through the Pittsburgh Initiative to Reduce Crime.
 
The Controller is hereby authorized and directed to encumber the funds for the agreement or contract upon execution of said agreement(s) or contract(s). The total amount of said agreement(s) or contract(s) shall not exceed three hundred thousand dollars ($300,000.00), chargeable to and payable from the following:
