WHEREAS, Officer Lois “Chicken” Yannotti of Stanton Heights began her career in the Pittsburgh Public Schools system in 2002, and started working at the Pittsburgh Creative and Performing Arts School (CAPA) in 2003; and
WHEREAS, “Chicken”, as she is affectionately known by the students of CAPA, has devoted her time at CAPA to serving and protecting the school's students, going above and beyond what is required of her; and
WHEREAS, Officer Yannotti pleasantly greets the students, staff members, and guests of CAPA as they enter the building each day, serving as the school's “mother hen” with her kind heart and nurturing soul; and
WHEREAS, Officer Yannotti, through her contagious positive and caring attitude, works every day to make each and every CAPA student feels appreciated and supported; and
WHEREAS, Officer Yannotti knows every CAPA student and their family members by name, attending as many student performances as possible to show her support for each student's talent and dedication to their artistic pursuits inside and outside of the classroom; and
WHEREAS, Officer Yannotti enjoys cooking for both her home and school families, of which, her famous broccoli casserole is a CAPA staff favorite; and
WHEREAS, Officer Yannotti has been happily married for close to 35 years, is the proud mother of two daughters and one son, and is the grandmother of six grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, after 10 years of service to CAPA, and 11 total years of service to the Pittsburgh Public Schools, Officer Yannotti will be retiring to spend more time with her family; and

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby recognize and thank Officer Lois “Chicken” Yannotti for her years of unparalleled commitment to CAPA, its students, and staff as displayed through the remarkable depth of her capacity to care for, and give back to, the CAPA community, and does wish her a very happy retirement; and
