WHEREAS, as an entitlement community and a recipient of Community Development Block Grants, the City of Pittsburgh has an obligation to affirmatively further fair housing; and

WHEREAS, there is a need to better inform residents and persons who visit the City of the services the Commission on Human Relations provides; and

WHEREAS, to meet this need, the City requires professional services to provide video production for a series of Public Service Announcements (PSAs) that inform residents of their Fair Housing rights; and

WHEREAS, to meet this need, the City requires professional services to provide video production for a four- to seven-minute informational video to inform residents of the role of the Pittsburgh Commission on Human Relations;

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PITTSBURGH AS FOLLOWS:

Section 1. The Mayor and the Director of the Commission on Human Relations, on behalf of the City of Pittsburgh, are hereby authorized to utilize Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Funds distributed by the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD) for a specific proposal submitted by the City of Pittsburgh Commission on Human Relations which addresses fair housing practices in the City of Pittsburgh.
