WHEREAS, On Saturday Feb. 23, 2013 The Westinghouse Bulldogs Basketball team defeated Pittsburgh Perry HS 61-52 in the City Championship. This is the first Championship for the Boys Basketball team since 1998. Coaches Tariq Francis and Freddie Harris have worked hard to establish a culture of hard work and commitment over the past two years; and,
WHEREAS, The young men have bought into the philosophy and have worked tirelessly to succeed in the classroom as well as on the court. As a team the Bulldogs pride themselves on shutting down opponents with sound defense and strong rebounding for 32 minutes every game ; and,
WHEREAS, Under the leadership of Head Coach Tariq Francis and Assistant Freddie Harris the Westinghouse Bulldogs ended the season with an overall record of 15-8.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby commend and congratulate; The Westinghouse High School Boys Basketball Team and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Tuesday, March 4, 2013, to be "The Westinghouse Bulldogs Day" in the City of Pittsburgh.
