WHEREAS, Anna Hilliard began her career with the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh (CLP) in the now defunct Inner City Services Dept; and,
WHEREAS, Ms. Hilliard has spent 38 years with the Carnegie Library of East Liberty, primarily working as a Clerical Specialist in the Children's Room,
WHEREAS, Anna was, is, and will always be Ms. Anna, a friendly face to all visitors to the Children's Room, regardless of their age; and,
WHEREAS, Generations of families grew up with Ms. Anna in their lives, further making her an integral part of the East Liberty branch of the Carnegie Library; and,
WHEREAS, Ms. Anna is known throughout East Liberty for her dedication to the Library, so much so that in any of the few instances Ms. Anna were absent from the library, patrons would immediately take note, asking, "Where is Ms. Anna?", a testament to her standing in the community; and,
WHEREAS, Ms. Anna is a devoted mother to her daughter Deonna, a loving sister to her sister Doris, and is committed to her extended family spread throughout the USA, with whom she loves to visit; and,

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby honor and thank Ms. Anna Hilliard for her tireless dedication to the Carnegie Library of East Liberty, her endless commitment to its patrons, and her near-infinite capacity to give to the people of East Liberty; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does wish Ms. Anna Hilliard a happy retirement, and does hereby declare January 15, 2013, to be Ms. Anna Day in the City of Pittsburgh.
