Title: NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby commend Our Lady of the Sacred Heart School for preparing students well for their futures and congratulate the OLSH Boys Cross Country Team for their historic win; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Tuesday, December 4, 2012, to be “OLSH Boys Cross Country Team Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, on October 25, 2012, Our Lady of the Sacred Heart (OLSH) Boys Cross Country Team won their first WPIAL Class A Championship in the history of the school; and,  
 
WHEREAS, this year the OLSH boys cross country team changed its classification from a Class AA to a Class A level in the WPIAL which made a very positive impact on the team; and,  
 
WHEREAS, the OLSH team consists of seniors Matt Haupt and Dom Desalle; Juniors, Nick Kocent and Ian Schrenk; Sophomores Ryder Ballou and Alexander Michalenko; and Freshman Sean Cahalan and Jordan Hoffman; Head Coach Bob Berg and Assistant Coach Gary Carmichael; and,
 
WHEREAS, at their first trip to the PIAA State Championship in school history on November 3, 2012, the team placed 7th out of 19 competing teams; and,    
 
WHEREAS, in addition to athletics, OLSH succeeds in providing other thriving co-curricular activities and academic excellence, and OLSH students complete approximately 10,000 hours of community service annually; and,
