Title: NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby recognize and commend Greenfield's own Veterans for their service; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare November 15, 2011, to be “GREENFIELD VETERANS DAY” in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, fifteen percent of Western Pennsylvanians - including 33,000 residents of Pittsburgh - are veterans, while many more continue to serve on active duty; and,
 
WHEREAS, on November 10, 2012, Pittsburgh held its 93rd Veterans Days parade in downtown Pittsburgh, in conjunction with Allegheny County, to honor those who have served and made great sacrifices for our country; and,
 
WHEREAS, a grateful Nation commemorated Veterans Days on November 12, 2012, in solemn ceremonies, including the President of the United States laying a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknowns; and,
 
WHEREAS, Senior Centers throughout the City of Pittsburgh are paying tribute to their local Veterans and thanking them for their devotion to their country.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby recognize and commend Greenfield's own Veterans for their service; and,
 
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare November 15, 2011, to be "GREENFIELD VETERANS DAY" in the City of Pittsburgh.
