Resolution authorizing the Mayor and/or the Director of the Department of Finance and/or the Director of the Department of Public Works, on behalf of the City of Pittsburgh, to submit a Financial Assistance Application to the Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority (PENNVEST) for the purpose of receiving grant funds that will be used for the initiation of storm water improvement projects in the Panther Hollow Watershed (Schenley Park) and to thereafter enter into an Agreement or Agreements with PENNVEST to accept any grant funds offered to the City.
Body
WHEREAS, per a separate resolution of City Council, the City and the Pittsburgh Park Conservancy (“PPC”) are seeking to enter into a Project License Agreement to permit the PPC to undertake rehabilitation and storm water improvement projects in the Panther Hollow Watershed (Schenley Park) (the “Project”); and

WHEREAS, in order to fund the Project, the PPC is seeking to obtain funding from various private and public sources, including PENNVEST; and

WHEREAS, as owner of Schenley Park, the City is required to serve as the official applicant for the PENNVEST Financial Assistant Application; and

WHEREAS, if the City is selected to receive and accepts any such grant funds from PENNVEST for the Project, it will then serve as a financial conduit and transfer the grant funds to the PPC for Project expenses incurred.

The Council of the City of Pittsburgh hereby enacts as follows:

Section 1. The Mayor and/or the Director of the Department of Finance and/or the Director of the Department of Public Works, on behalf of the City of Pittsburgh, are hereby authorized to apply to submit a Financial Assistance Application to the Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority (PENNVEST) for the purpose of receiving grant funds to be used for storm water improvement projects in the Panther Hollow Watershed.
