Title: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby recognize Mrs. Fances Colletto for her incredible sacrifice and for her many years of service as a Gold Star Mother; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh wishes Mrs. Colletto a very happy birthday and does hereby proclaim Sunday, September 16th 2012 “Mrs. Frances Colletto Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, Gold Star Mothers are women who have lost children enlisted in the United States Armed Services; and
 
WHEREAS, Gold Star Mothers provide support to each other, as well as to families who have also lost loved ones in the line of duty; and
 
WHEREAS, Mrs. Frances Colletto of Antietam Street in Morningside is a Gold Star Mother, having lost her son, Sergeant Albert Colletto Jr., in the Battle of Hamburger Hill on August 12th, 1969; and
 
WHEREAS, Mrs. Colletto's son was an infantry member of the 101st Airborne Division of the United States Army; and  
 
WHEREAS, Mrs. Colletto was the president of the Pennsylvania chapter of the Gold Star Mothers; and
 
WHEREAS, Mrs. Colletto has been a "second mother" to Pittsburgh's Vietnam Veterans, who recognize and appreciate all of the work that Mrs. Colletto has done; and
 
WHEREAS, Mrs. Colletto will turn 98 years old on September 12th, 2012; and

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby recognize Mrs. Fances Colletto for her incredible sacrifice and for her many years of service as a Gold Star Mother; and
