TITLE
Resolution amending Resolution 226 of 2010 providing for the filing of petitions for the sale of certain properties, acquired at tax sales, in accordance with Act No.171 of 1984,  "Second Class City Treasurer Sale and Collection Act", effective December 11, 1984.
so as to delete transfer Item A: 6046 Jackson Street.
BODY
WHEREAS, in 2010 the Council of the City of Pittsburgh authorized the sale of 6046 Jackson Street to the Highland Park Community Development Corporation, which previously was focused on improving the state of residential real estate; and
 
WHEREAS, the Highland Park CDC now concentrates its efforts on improving the business district in Highland Park located along Bryant Street; and
 
WHEREAS, the Highland Park CDC is not in the same financial position it was nearly three years ago and is now struggling to maintain it properties and pay its taxes; and
 
WHEREAS, many Highland Park residents are extremely frustrated with the numerous vacant and blighted properties owned by the Highland Park CDC and with the organization's lack of financial wherewithal or strategic planning to eliminate the problems caused by their vacant and blighted properties; and
 
WHEREAS, the community residents want the Highland Park CDC to make their financial situation clear and transparent to the public and to share with the residents a strategic plan for improving their properties before they are permitted to purchase any more property from the City of Pittsburgh,
 
Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:
 
Section 1.  Authorization for Item A is hereby revoked transferred
