Title
Resolution Authorizing the Mayor and the Department of Public Works to enter into a Cooperation Agreement with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, in connection with the rehabilitation and ownership of Fancourt Street Bridge.

Whereas, the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, pursuant to Act 235 of 1982, as amended, has appropriated funds to aid in the removal, rehabilitation or replacement of eligible bridges under the jurisdiction of eligible local governments, and
Whereas, the existing bridge, known as the Fancourt Street Bridge, which connects Fort Duquesne Boulevard in the City with State Route 8041, will undergo a bridge rehabilitation, and
Whereas, the City has finalized and approved designs of the Fancourt Street Bridge Rehabilitation; now therefore:
Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:
Section 1 The Mayor and the Director of the Department of Public Works are hereby authorized to enter into a Cooperation Agreement with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, pursuant to which the Department will fund and administer the Fancourt Street Bridge Rehabilitation and the City upon completion of the project will take on ownership and maintenance responsibilities for the bridge. The form and substance of the Agreement shall be subject to the approval of the City Solicitor.
