Title
Resolution authorizing the filing of an application for federal assistance, as a co-applicant with Urban Redevelopment Authority of Pittsburgh, with the U.S. Economic Development Administration for up to $1,959,500 to construct public works projects required for the Bakery Square 2.0 project.  (Council District 8).
 
Body
Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:
 
Section 1.      The Mayor or the Director of the Department of Public Works, on behalf of the City of Pittsburgh, is hereby authorized to execute and file, as a co-applicant with Urban Redevelopment Authority of Pittsburgh ("URA"), an application for federal assistance, certifications, assurances, budgets and related necessary or appropriate documents required by the U.S. Economic Development Administration ("EDA") for a public works grant of up to $1,959,500 to be used to install new street connections, sewers, traffic improvements, street lighting and related public infrastructure required for the Bakery Square 2.0 project.
 
      Section 2.      Upon approval by EDA of the application, the Mayor or the Director of the Department of Public Works, on behalf of the City, is authorized to execute a grant agreement and any other necessary or appropriate documents required by EDA in connection with the grant, which agreements shall be in a form approved by the City Solicitor.
 
      Section 3.      URA is hereby designated as the City's agent for administration of the EDA grant and is authorized to draw down funds directly from EDA, and the Executive Director, Acting Executive Director or Director of Finance of URA is authorized to sign all invoices, payment applications and/or requisitions and any other necessary or appropriate documents on behalf of the City as its agent and co-applicant for the EDA grant.
