Title: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Tuesday, March 6th 2012, to be Harry Tolbert Day in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, the neighborhood of Arlington is a tight-knit Hilltop community, with a long tradition of neighbors looking out for one another; and,
 
WHEREAS, Harry Tolbert is a resident of Arlington and embodies this tradition of neighborliness with his charitable disposition and care for others; and,
 
WHEREAS, raised in Baldwin as the youngest of thirteen children, Harry Tolbert graduated high school in 1961, the only one of his siblings to realize this achievement, and began working on cars as a teenager, learning his trade for several years at both small and large commercial garages before branching out on his own by establishing a home garage in Arlington; and,
 
WHEREAS, Harry Tolbert is well-known and beloved in Arlington both for his tireless work for the community at his home garage, where he oftentimes takes little or nothing for the repairs that he does, as well as his altruistic community service for his elderly neighbors, including shoveling snow for them in winter; and,
 
WHEREAS, with a giving spirit and true love for his trade, Harry Tolbert has established his garage as a cornerstone of the Arlington community and a symbol of a responsible and  community-focused small business in tough economic times; and,
