Title: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh, also known as Gotham City, does hereby declare Sunday, February 26th 2012, to be Pittsburgh Film Office Day in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, the Pittsburgh Film Office markets the greater southwestern Pennsylvania region as a great location for movie, television and commercial production; and,
 
WHEREAS, since its inception in 1990, the Pittsburgh Film Office has assisted more than 105 feature films and television productions to southwestern Pennsylvania to generate an economic impact of more than $600 million for the region; and,
 
WHEREAS, in 2007, the Pittsburgh Film Office played an important role in its supporting of the Pennsylvania Film Tax Credit, a program that allows a 25% tax credit to production that spend at least 60% of the production budget in the Commonwealth; and,
 
WHEREAS, in 2011, six major projects, including The Dark Knight Rises, accounted for over $100 million dollars of economic activity in Pennsylvania; and,
 
WHEREAS, the annual Academy Awards benefit, "Highmark Presents Lights! Glamour! Action!" enters into its 12th year as they celebrate another outstanding year of the film industry in our region and support the mission of the Pittsburgh Film Office; and,
