Title: NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby recognize the First Annual Hug-A-Thon Pittsburgh™ for its contributions to the City of Pittsburgh and its citizens; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare September 6, 2012 to be “Hug-A-Thon Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, the First Annual Hug-A-Thon Pittsburgh™ is a not-for-profit event that will support four charitable organizations; and  
 
WHEREAS, the First Annual Hug-A-Thon Pittsburgh™ will be a yearlong effort, organized by Positively Pittsburgh Live Magazine.com™, that will bring support and attention to the causes and needs of other charitable organizations; and   
 
WHEREAS, the First Annual Hug-A-Thon Pittsburgh™ has gained the broad backing of many sponsors and supporters due to the excellence of its purpose and goals in bringing happiness and awareness to the citizens of the City of Pittsburgh; and   
 
WHEREAS, the First Annual Hug-A-Thon Pittsburgh™ sets out to prove that Pittsburgh is not only "the most livable" city but also the most "lovable"; and
 
WHEREAS, the First Annual Hug-A-Thon Pittsburgh™ is operating in a spirit of citywide pride and cooperation; and
 
WHEREAS, the culmination of this yearlong effort will be a Hug-A-Thon on September 6, 2012; which will be held in five locations in Downtown Pittsburgh; and
 
WHEREAS, the evening of the Hug-A-Thon on September 6, 2012 will include fund raising for charitable organizations through a gala event held at Wyndham Grand Pittsburgh Downtown.
