WHEREAS, the Pittsburgh International Auto Show will take place at the David Lawrence Convention Center from February 17th though 20th this year; and
WHEREAS, the Pittsburgh International Auto Show will feature over thirty-five manufacturers and exhibitors; and
WHEREAS, the show offers an opportunity to see new and upcoming vehicles in a non-selling environment and will feature a number of events and attractions in a great environment for children and families; and
WHEREAS, this year's event will be kicked off with a Red Carpet Charity Preview Gala on February 16th, benefitting the Austin's Playroom Project; and
WHEREAS, the Austin's Playroom Project is an initiative of the Mario Lemieux Foundation, which raises funds for the installation of safe, calming, and comfortable playrooms at medical care facilities throughout Western Pennsylvania; and
WHEREAS, the Pittsburgh International Auto Show involves many daily events, including the Pittsburgh International Auto Show Blood Drive on February 18th, 2012 from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby recognize the Pittsburgh International Auto Show for providing family events for a good cause; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare February 16th through 20th, 2012 to be "Pittsburgh International Auto Show Week" in the City of Pittsburgh.
