Title: NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby commend the Sheraden Baseball Association for 60 years of providing the children of Pittsburgh with an environment that enables them to learn and grow, not only as an athlete but as a person; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Tuesday, February 7, 2012, to be “Sheraden Baseball Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, the Sheraden Baseball Association, created by men and women of the Sheraden community in 1952, is proud to announce their 60th year anniversary in 2012; and,
WHEREAS, the Sheraden Baseball Association is the longest running baseball organization in the West End of Pittsburgh with the goal of providing a safe and enjoyable learning environment for children ; and,
WHEREAS, the mission of the Sheraden Baseball Association is to promote good sportsmanship, honesty, integrity, fairness, and athleticism among children in the Sheraden community; and,
WHEREAS, the Sheraden Baseball Association is compiled of boys and girls ranging from the ages 4-16 years old in the Sheraden community, and are divided up in six different age groups starting with the Munchkin League and ending with the Colt League; and,      
WHEREAS, the Sheraden Baseball Association is proud of the fact that they will play rain or shine, and had very low rain outs in the past few years, keeping the number to only 2 in 2011 ; and,
WHEREAS, the celebration of the 60th anniversary for this successful athletic association will take place on February 11th at Holy Innocence Hall from 5:00 pm to 11:00 pm and are welcoming all who would like to attend; and,
